Rob Johnson is a Principal of Dakota Plains Development, and Dakota Plains Energy. Rob is an original founder of the company and splits his time between the Nisswa, MN and Aberdeen, SD offices. He has over 30 years experience in business and commercial development and ownership. Rob is involved in many national professional and local civic organizations, along with his church, often serving on the Board of Directors. He is a proud graduate of Northern State University, continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh and obtained his MMasters in Development at St. Thomas University in Minneapolis.
Rob grew up operating and eventually owning the family business, Carquest Auto Parts of Aberdeen, SD, which grew to the 5th highest volume of 2,500 Carquest stores in the country under his watch. Rob learned the importance of building relationships with farmers and ranchers across the State. Throughout his career, Rob has been involved in many businesses and development projects as an owner, investor or partner. Along with his commercial development projects in South Dakota and Minnesota, today Rob also oversees Dakota Plains Energy, focusing primarily on wind farms and biomass projects in his home state.

Heath Johnson is a founding Principal of Dakota Plains Development, Inc., and Dakota Plains Energy, Inc. Johnson offices out of Aberdeen, SD, where he lives with his family. He has over 15 years of business management and ownership experience, to go along with his development and commercial brokerage work. Heath graduated with a Management degree from the University of South Dakota, and has gone on to complete his Masters in Business from USD. He is currently active in the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, the Aberdeen Housing Task Force, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Dacotah Prairie Museum. Heath splits his time between his 17 acre mixed-use development in Aberdeen, and Dakota Plains Energys wind farm projects in South Dakota.
